Transatlantic launches property/casualty division, names executive

Transatlantic Underwriters Inc. Monday announced the launch of a new property/casualty division and named former Coastal Brokers Insurance Services executive Bernadette Flores as senior vice president of property and casualty.

The new division includes six lines of business: commercial general and excess liability; commercial property; inland marine; builders risk; and garage, TUA said in a statement.

Ms. Flores was most recently a senior underwriter with Coastal. She has more than two decades of experience in the excess and surplus property/casualty sector, with a focus on contractors, garage, habitational, and hospitality coverages.

She is based in TAU’s San Francisco Bay Area office, where she began her new role early this month.
