UnderwriteMe, the Insurtech company of Pacific Life Re, has announced a number of key leadership appointments, including Scott Hunt as Director of Business Development, North America (NA), which follows the transition of Brett Laker to the role of Vice President, Client Solutions at Pacific Life Re.
Laker previously served as Head of North America at UnderwriteMe, and in his new role will report directly to Sarah Cheng, who is responsible for the protection business in North America and Europe.
Hunt brings a deep understanding of the region. In his new role, he will focus on driving business development and accelerating the adoption of digital transformation initiatives across the North American insurance market.
Additionally, UnderwriteMe has appointed Tom Frenzel as Manager, Business Development, UK and Ireland.
In the role, Frenzel’s remit includes responsibility for client management, cultivating new partnerships and expanding UnderwriteMe’s footprint in the UK and Irish markets.
Both Hunt and Frenzel will report to Paul Hughes, Chief Revenue and Customer Officer.
Andrew Doran, Chief Executive Officer, UnderwriteMe, commented, “These leadership changes mark an exciting chapter in UnderwriteMe’s journey. Brett’s move to Pacific Life Re reinforces our integrated vision for client success. At the same time, we’re excited to welcome Scott and Tom into their new roles, where their expertise will help us continue to lead the market in digital underwriting and customer-centric technology.”
Frenzel added, “It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with a team that is truly redefining the life insurance journey through smart technology, automation, and data-driven decisioning. I’m looking forward to collaborating with insurers to unlock growth, simplify underwriting, and deliver better customer outcomes. I’m thrilled to get started.”
