Verisk announces leadership changes

Lee M. Shavel, chief financial officer and group president of Verisk Analytics Inc., will succeed Scott G. Stephenson, chairman, president and CEO, upon his retirement, the Jersey City, New Jersey-based analytics firm said in a statement Friday.

Mark V. Anquillare, chief operating officer and group president, will become president of Verisk upon Mr. Stephenson’s retirement following Verisk’s 2022 Annual Shareholder Meeting.

Mr. Stephenson joined Verisk in 2001 and was named COO in 2008, president in 2011 and CEO in 2013. During his tenure as CEO, Verisk became a part of the S&P 500 Index, the statement said.

Mr. Shavel joined Verisk in 2017 as CFO and in 2021 also became group president of the company’s energy and financial services segments.

Mr. Anquillare has been Verisk’s COO since 2016 and served as CFO from 2009 through 2016. He has been with the company for almost 30 years.

Upon his retirement, Mr. Stephenson will also step down from the Verisk Board of Directors following the 2022 annual meeting.

Mr. Shavel’s replacement as CFO will be named at a later date and the roles of chair of the board of directors and CEO will be separated following the 2022 annual meeting, Verisk said.
