VIG Re appoints Marc Haushofer as Executive Director International Business Development

VIG Re, the reinsurance arm of Prague-based Vienna Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Marc Haushofer as Executive Director of International Business Development, effective May 1st, 2025.
Haushofer brings over 40 years of experience in the re/insurance industry.
He joins VIG Re from RenaissanceRe, where he served as Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific.
Prior to that, he spent nearly 16 years at Validus Re, most recently as EVP & CEO of Asia Pacific, where he established and led the Singapore branch.
Haushofer also chaired the Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA) from 2017 until the end of 2024.
Additionally, he served as CEO & Principal Officer of Munich Re Singapore and as a Deputy Member of the Executive Management team at Munich Re.
VIG Re stated, “Marc’s expertise will be invaluable in strengthening VIG Re’s international footprint.”
