Washington workers comp rates to increase 3.8%

The average cost of workers compensation insurance in Washington will go up 3.8 % in 2025, the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries announced Tuesday.

This is the fourth year the state has raised workers comp rates. In 2024, rates increased by an average of 4.9%.

As Washington is a monopolistic state, regulators there have said that state is unique in the way it calculates rates.
