Westfield Specialty International, a specialty insurance provider, has announced the appointment of Robert Copp as Head of US Marine Treaty.
In his new role, Copp will focus on US ocean marine, inland marine and offshore energy reinsurance for North American and global insurers as Westfield expands its Marine Treaty offering to the US market.
He will report to Christopher Gray, Head of Reinsurance at Westfield Specialty International, and will be based in the firm’s New York office at Hudson Yards.
Copp brings more than 30 years of experience in the marine treaty market and has held various senior leadership roles with a broad underwriting background across the US and London markets.
Previously, he spent more than 13 years at AXIS Reinsurance, most recently as Head of Marine North America.
Before that, he held senior roles at XL Re America, including Senior Vice President.
