Westfield Specialty International, an insurance and reinsurance provider known for delivering tailored risk solutions, is continuing its strategic growth by bolstering its political violence (PV) and aviation war underwriting team with three notable hires.
Hector Threlfall and Charlie Fellows have joined the Political Violence and War team as Senior Underwriter and Underwriter, respectively.
In addition, the Aviation War team has welcomed Mark Connellan as an Underwriter. All three professionals will operate out of London and report to Jo Cousins, Class Underwriter for Political Violence and Aviation War.
Jeremy Shallow, Head of Specialty & Deputy CUO commented: “Westfield Specialty International is in the midst of a sustained period of investment in our people, supplementing our existing strengths with an influx of new and exciting talent.
“The current global geopolitical uncertainty means there is intense competition to secure the leading underwriters in the PV & aviation war lines. Hector, Charlie, and Mark all arrive with deep knowledge, experience and technical skills. The fact that we are able to attract people of this calibre is testament to the appeal of the Westfield Specialty offering – the stability of our ‘mutual’ approach, our commitment to disciplined underwriting, and our focus on long-term and sustainable product expansion.”
Hector Threlfall brings over a decade of experience in political violence underwriting, having most recently worked at Travelers. Charlie Fellows joins the team following a 12-year tenure at Marsh, where he served as a political violence broker. Mark Connellan adds nearly 10 years of expertise in the insurance industry, with his most recent role at Convex.
