Willis names former Lloyd’s exec to lead commercial lines data

Willis Towers Watson PLC on Monday said it has named former Lloyd’s of London executive Lou Smith to lead commercial lines data strategy and accelerate digital trading capability in the broker’s insurance consulting and technology business.

Ms. Smith was most recently the first chief digital officer at Lloyd’s of London, the Willis statement said. In this newly created position, she will be based in London and report to Tasha Pettet, director, digital underwriting, insurance consulting and technology at Willis.

Ms. Pettet said in the statement that there has been a “marked increase” in the pace of digitalization throughout the commercial lines insurance market during the pandemic.
